HealthLinks Marketing runs a full-service growth engagement for Charleston Oncology, a community oncology practice affiliated with Roper St. Francis Cancer Care. Oncology is a referral-driven specialty, so the work covers both sides of the equation: keeping referring physicians connected to the practice, and giving patients a clear, reassuring picture of the care they will receive.
On the referral side, our physician liaison team works as an extension of the practice. We built and maintain a CRM tracking the region’s top referring providers by practice, specialty, and location, monitor referral volume month over month against prior-year trends, and put liaisons in the field, visiting referring offices, gathering feedback, resolving issues before they cost referrals, and keeping Charleston Oncology top of mind through personal outreach. When the data shows a referring practice trending down, a liaison is in their office that week.
On the patient side, we rebuilt the website’s cancer care content: a dedicated, search-optimized page for every major cancer type, each written to answer the questions patients actually have at diagnosis and integrated with Roper St. Francis Cancer Care resources.
We also produce patient testimonial videos, in which real patients share their treatment experience in their own words. Nothing tells a prospective patient more about a cancer center than hearing from someone who has sat in the same chair. These stories show, rather than claim, that Charleston Oncology is the most caring cancer center in the Lowcountry.

Our Approach
Referral relationships and patient-facing content reinforce each other. The liaison program keeps the referral pipeline healthy and tells us exactly where to focus: the CRM shows which practices, specialties, and geographies are growing or slipping, and field visits turn that data into relationships. Meanwhile, the website and blog content give referring physicians confidence in where they are sending their patients, giving those patients clarity and reassurance from the first search after a diagnosis. The testimonial videos put a human face on that reassurance at the moment it matters most. Every awareness-month blog, cancer-type page, testimonial video, and liaison visit carries the same message: coordinated, personalized, deeply caring cancer care, close to home.
